Community Mural Unveiling at Mount Zion Baptist Church

June 19 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Join the Mount Zion Black Cultural Center for their unveiling of their new mural at Mount Zion Baptist Church!

Humanities scholars Katherine Jamieson, PhD, Andrea Frohne, PhD, and Culture Bearers Ada-Woodson Adams & Elizabeth Williams dressed in costumes from the era depicted in the murals, will participate in a program featuring storytelling, antidotal snippets, and historical facts, prior to the unveiling of the Rose window. Students from the schools as well as other volunteers from Ohio University and Passion Works will be offered the opportunity to speak of their experience making the faux stained glass and a member of Mount Zions ‘Gospel Voices of Faith Choir’ will end the program.

This project was funded in part by an Ohio Humanities Ignite Grant.
