Jefferson’s America: Divided but ONE | Family Program for Young Audiences

Thomas Jefferson makes his debut in Cleveland, OH to discuss his life’s purpose as founding father, profound thinker, inquisitive innovator, and author of freedom.

Northeast Ohio will learn how one man’s intellectual ambition shaped a nation in the midst of strong national division.

This event is a Living History program for the general public, college students, high school students, and faculty to learn more about Thomas Jefferson’s views on religion, race, and individual freedoms as evidenced by his writing the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, the Declaration of Independence, the Northwest Ordinance, and other important documents through the course of Jefferson’s life. The focus is on ways Jefferson handled division in the nation and held diverging views on government as president

Come join us at the Cleveland History Center as we uncover the real Thomas Jefferson! SATURDAY, NOV. 23, 2024 10: 30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. presentation with young audience and 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. interview with Jefferson for adult audience (Tri-C students and staff are free with discount parking).
