Humanities Kansas: “The Women of Brown”
February 9 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Humanities Kansas is also hosting a series of programming celebrating the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Ed!
Donna Rae Pearson, Collection Development and Museum Specialist at the Kansas Historical Society, joins Dr. Valerie Mendoza for “The Women of Brown.” Twelve Black women were plaintiffs in the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case, but their contributions to the civil rights movement have often been overlooked. This presentation and discussion will shine a light on their stories and ensure that their names are not forgotten.
