Heroine

Mindy McGinnis is a YA author who has worked in a high school library for thirteen years. Her debut, Not A Drop to Drink, a post-apocalyptic survival story set in a world with very little freshwater, has been optioned for film by Stephenie Meyer’s Fickle Fish Films. The companion novel, In A Handful of Dust was released in 2014. Her Gothic historical thriller, A Madness So Discreet was released in October of 2015 from Katherine Tegen Books.

Join award-winning author Mindy McGinnis as she discusses her novel HEROINE, an in-depth look at the opioid crisis in the heartland, that follows the downward spiral of a promising teen from college-bound athlete to addict. Hear about the research behind the novel, including myths about addiction, and learn more about the crisis that is touching lives everywhere.
