Join the Toledo Opera on Facebook or YouTube for their Blue Tuesday Talk on Tuesday, August 16 at 6:30 p.m. This free, virtual public panel discussion composed of artists, scholars, and Toledo community members goes beyond what’s on stage and delves into the themes found in Blue that can be seen in today’s contemporary society. Panelists include: Tazewell Thompson – NAACP Theatre Award-winning librettist and director of Blue; Maestro Chelsea Tipton, II – conductor of Blue; Kathy Tucker – Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for PNC Banks’s Toledo Market; and Crystal Harris – Toledo activist and storyteller. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Naomi André, Professor in the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, and the Residential College, University of Michigan.
