MuckAbout with Trobár!

October 20 @ 5:30 pm 7:00 pm

Trobár of the Greater Cleveland Area welcomes you to come obsess with them about medieval author Christine de Pizan and the music of her era. As a teaser for their upcoming shows on October 25th and 26th featuring her proto-feminist work, they will introduce you to some of the musical practices prevalent in early 15th c. France, including aural learning, the Guidonian hand and hexachordal solmization, fauxbourdon, mensural notation, and counterpoint. Bring instruments (pitch=A440), voices, and appetites (musical and culinary) for this fun and educational chance to muck about in the 15th century!

RSVP here.

Be sure to check out their podcast, too, where they will have an episode about Christine de Pizan broadcasting soon!

This event was funded in part by an Ohio Humanities Spark Grant.
