George Bellows: American Life in Print

October 25, 2024 @ 11:00 am February 9, 2025 @ 5:00 pm

Come visit the Cincinnati Art Museum to see their newest exhibition, George Bellows: American Life in Print!

George Bellows: American Life in Print is an exhibition of one of the most accomplished and celebrated artists from Ohio. Born in Columbus in 1882, Bellows’ early life was deeply influenced by his home state: from his time attending the Ohio State University to being scouted by the Cincinnati Reds, Bellows’ life opens numerous opportunities to explore the Ohio experience. An affiliate of the Ashcan School, Bellows used the world around him as inspiration, capturing scenes of the world around him in a dramatic light. By his death at age 42, Bellows was one of the most celebrated artists of his time. Featuring over 60 lithographs by Bellows, George Bellows: American Life in Print will introduce to the public his significant accomplishments while exploring the world his artworks document.

This exhibit was funded in part by an Ohio Humanities Spark Grant.
