2024 Ohioana Book Festival: Celebrating Ohio’s Books

The 2024 Ohioana Book Festival will be the 18th annual celebration of reading, writing, and Ohio literature. The festival, first presented in 2007, is free and open to the public.
More than 120 Ohio authors and illustrators will take part. Programming will be include panel discussions and live podcast recordings, a book fair; plus story times and activities for children of all ages.
Among the participating authors will be National Book Award winner Jacqueline Woodson and National Book Award finalist Hanif Abdurraqib, both of who are also MacArthur Foundation Fellows. Woodson and Abdurraqib will appear together in a conversation moderated by Laura Maylene Walter of the Ohio Center for the Book and recorded live for OCB’s podcast, ‘Page Count.’ Ohio Humanities is proud to sponsor this conversation.
Other authors include two past Pulitzer Prize finalists, cartoonist and ‘Funky Winkerbean’ creator Tom Batiuk and journalist and pop culture historian David Giffels. Ohio’s first Poet Laureate Amit Majmudar will appear, and current Ohio Poet Laureate Kari Gunter-Seymour will also appear; and from the Ohio Humanities Speakers Bureau novelist Mindy McGinnis.
