Shutdown, a Documentary at Gahanna Library

Join the Gahanna Branch of the Columbus Metro Library for a screening of Shutdown, a documentary created to tell the story of how Linden McKinley High School was repeatedly shut down in May 1971 due to racial tensions.

Linden-McKinley High School was shut down multiple times in May 1971 due to escalating racial tensions at the school that reflected the national social and political climate of the day. This film features the stories of students, teachers and an administrator as they recount events that led to a terrifying police raid that shut down the school for the rest of the year and the haunting aftermath.
