Mr. Per­fect on Paper is a wit­ty romance novel about one woman’s search for her per­fect man. However, the nov­el tack­les heav­ier sub­jects, such as gen­er­al­ized anx­i­ety dis­or­der and grief. What’s most remark­able is the fact that Jean Meltzer incor­po­rates humor in a way that brings lev­i­ty with­out dimin­ish­ing the grav­i­ty of the circumstances.

Jean Meltzer stud­ied dra­mat­ic writ­ing at NYU Tisch and has earned numer­ous awards for her work in tele­vi­sion, includ­ing a day­time Emmy. She spent five years in rab­bini­cal school before her chron­ic ill­ness forced her to with­draw, and her father told her she should write a book —just not a Jew­ish one because no one reads those. She is the author of the acclaimed Hanukkah romance, The Matzah Ball. Mr. Per­fect on Paper is her sec­ond novel.

Is find­ing true love a call­ing or a curse? Even as a child in 1910, Sara Glik­man knows her gift: She is a seek­er of soul­mates and a mak­er of match­es. Two generations later, Sara has passed away and bequeathed her journals with all the details of her matches, to her granddaughter, Abby, a successful Manhattan divorce attorney. This is a heart­felt and mag­i­cal sto­ry of two extra­or­di­nary women from two dif­fer­ent eras who defy soci­etal expectations.

Lyn­da Cohen Loigman grew up in Long­mead­ow, MA. She received a Bachelor of Arts. in Eng­lish and Amer­i­can Lit­er­a­ture from Har­vard Col­lege and a J.D. from Colum­bia Law School.
